Squirrels dig up daffodil bulbs

Walking my neighbor's dog, I came across a couple of top-size daffodil bulbs.  I am guessing that squirrels dug them up from the bed at the corner of our neighborhood park.  They are soggy.  I take them home in the hope they will dry out and not be rotted.  Then I will find a spot to plant them.

Harvest season

We turned on the heat today for the first time since spring.  We are bringing in the plants from the yard.  We are still harvesting tomatoes, okra, some green beans, bell pepper ("as big as from the store," says daughter.

We are trying to keep the compost pile encouraged since leaves are starting to fall from the maple trees already.

Harvest season...Monday, we will go apple and pear picking with the preschool.
